Eight universities reach thousands of eligible students since 1st July 2025 via the sector’s only free, end-to-end solution
Tens of thousands of Australians studying to provide critical community services – including midwifery and teaching – have received their first Commonwealth Prac Payments (CPP) under the Government’s recently launched new financial assistance program, powered by a free, purpose-built solution from TechnologyOne.
Eight universities, including Victoria, Curtin, James Cook, Central Queensland, University of Technology Sydney, La Trobe and Swinburne, deployed the end-to-end solution ahead of the CPP launch on 1st July 2025 to meet strict eligibility, financial and regulatory requirements.
Within the first 6 months, Victoria University successfully managed over 2,000 submissions using the solution, securely paying over $1.5 million to teaching, nursing, midwifery and social work students. The solution’s robust means-testing capabilities also identified more than 700 ineligible submissions, ensuring the financial support reached those with genuine need.
Roza Kalantary-Baker, Project Manager, Enterprise Enabling Systems, Digital Services, CQUniversity Australia, said, “TechnologyOne has consistently delivered outstanding work, contribution, and support in the CPP space. Their deep knowledge of CPP requirements continues to be invaluable in delivering effective and robust solutions for CQU’s CPP system.”
Mark Jones, Executive Vice President Education at TechnologyOne, added, “It was essential we developed a robust solution that met every program requirement. From proactively identifying eligible students to securely paying out millions across the course of the year. Just one missed or incorrect CPP would create an administrative headache for the institution and its students. We’re extremely proud to achieve a 100% accuracy rate across thousands of payments in the first 6 months. Most importantly, this ensures students receive the financial support they rely on to focus on their studies, stay engaged and build brighter futures.”
