The State Electricity Commission (SEC) of Victoria is already reaping the benefits of investing in Australian-made innovation, implementing its full suite of business systems in just 6 months, allowing it to hit the ground running July 1.
SEC re-emerged as a government-owned renewable energy company almost 30 years after it was privatised, with a roadmap of capital works projects, ambitious environmental targets and a rapidly growing workforce.
SEC selected TechnologyOne’s pioneering SaaS+ OneGovernment solution to help it deliver on mission-critical targets at the core of the Government’s $1 billion renewables investment.
TechnologyOne introduced SaaS+ to address the trend of government ‘tech wrecks’ and set new standards in delivering on-time, on-budget implementation for ERP systems. SaaS+ ends the outdated practice of expensive implementation projects with a simple single price model that ensures organisations get value from their investment in weeks rather than years.
The TechnologyOne solution is built on a “single source of truth” and gives all employees working across the state access anywhere, any time, on any device to the information they need. This new level of visibility enables SEC to benefit from accurate data-driven decision-making, helping it meet its goals, including almost state-wide renewable energy use by 2025, the creation of 59,000 jobs and more than 75 per cent emission reduction by 2035.
The integrated solutions will transform the delivery of SEC’s extensive development plans across construction, maintenance and end-of-life management, including the recently announced $370 million Renewable Energy Park in Horsham.
TechnologyOne CEO, Ed Chung, said: “The creation of the SEC is a huge commitment by the Victorian Government in positioning the state through the historic changes in the energy markets. By investing in an intuitive, single source of truth across all its operations, the team can now make data-led decisions with the confidence that they are maximising budget efficiencies at every opportunity.”
“We are thrilled that SEC has embraced our willingness to challenge the status quo and to have paid back their faith in us by delivering on time and on budget so their team can experience the productivity benefits of SaaS and transformational technology.”
TechnologyOne’s worldclass solutions are trusted by more than 230 Federal and State Government departments and agencies across Australia and New Zealand.
