Adelaide’s City of Tea Tree Gully has embraced automation and real-time data use to streamline service delivery to better meet community expectations. The council has gone live with TechnologyOne's Australian-made digital solution, Property and Rating (P&R), equipping staff with tools to respond faster to customer needs.
The new system has been welcomed by the team, significantly reducing administrative burden and allowing staff to focus their time on delivering better community outcomes.
Part of OneCouncil, P&R is a centralised system that enables local governments to more effectively manage property, land, people and addresses by streamlining billing and revenue collection. The solution empowers councils to better understand valuation and rating processes with sophisticated search capabilities and instant information retrieval.
Despite it being early days, the City of Tree Gully can expect more than time savings. According to 'Accelerating to the new normal’ , a report commissioned by TechnologyOne and produced by IBRS, automation and digital self-service channels can save councils $90 to $350 per complex transaction and $20 to $50 per simple transaction.
Justin Robbins, General Manager Strategy and Finance at City of Tea Tree Gully Council said: “We carried out a tender process and thoroughly evaluated all submissions, and it quickly became clear that TechnologyOne P&R would provide the significant time savings and improved efficiencies we were looking for.”
“By reinvesting savings back into our community, we can ensure we can continue to provide the services our residents value most now and into the future.”
The migration process from the council’s legacy authority rating system involved converting 30 years of data, including ratepayer details, property addresses, and valuations, to the new platform. The new systems provided the council with a single source of truth.
TechnologyOne’s executive vice president for local government Ben Malpass said: “P&R is a significant capability within our OneCouncil ERP and was developed to provide councils with built-in customer relationship management capabilities and deliver an enhanced online experience to residents.”
“We are thrilled the community is embracing the benefits of transformational technology and look forward to seeing the incredible work City of Tea Tree Gully Council will be able to deliver with these new efficiency gains.”
Leveraging more than 37 years of experience, 73% of Australian and New Zealand residents live in a council powered by TechnologyOne’s OneCouncil solution.
