Central Queensland University and Charles Sturt University are joining forces with local Software-as-as-Service (SaaS) provider TechnologyOne to pilot an innovative digital experience platform (DXP) that will revolutionise the student experience.
TechnologyOne has entered the final phase of testing for DXP Student, an app that provides students access to all academic information, including applications, grades, assignments, and announcements, through an intuitive interface that tailors content and recommendations based on the student's course, performance, and interests.
DXP Student is a testament to TechnologyOne’s Australian research and development (R&D), drawing on its deep sector knowledge. It improves student retention and completion by identifying signs of disengagement, such as poor academic performance, low attendance or overdue fees, and proactively guiding students to the appropriate support services.
Charles Sturt University Executive Director Sandra Sharpham said: “As Australia’s leading regional University, Charles Sturt University is committed to providing leading digital solutions that improve the experiences of our students. That’s why we’re proud to partner with TechnologyOne in a truly collaborative adoption program, that provides a student-centred approach to developing future-fit experiences across the student management lifecycle, making administration easier and creating moments that matter for students and staff.”
TechnologyOne developed DXP Student to integrate seamlessly with its OneEducation software, which powers 60% of Australian universities and TAFEs. DXP Student enables universities to provide students with the personalised user experience digital natives expect without the burden of developing, rolling out and maintaining a bespoke platform.
CQUniversity Chief Digital Officer Roy Pidgeon said: "CQUniversity is dedicated to providing a world-class digital experience to our students and staff. We know from rolling out our leading MyCQU platform that creating and maintaining a student app is a complex, resource-intensive challenge that most higher educators do not have the bandwidth to deliver. We are thrilled to be an early adopter of TechnologyOne’s DxP Student and look forward to supporting them in enhancing student success.”
TechnologyOne developed the app in response to student and academic feedback gathered over its unmatched experience developing software for Australian universities and TAFEs.
For example, the app’s consolidated calendar addresses common time-management challenges by allowing students to integrate their timetables, assessment deadlines, work shifts, social events, and university service bookings into a single streamlined view.
David Cope, TechnologyOne’s Executive Vice President for Education, said: “With growing financial pressures on the higher education sector, student engagement has never been more critical. DXP Student’s features have been developed hand-in-hand with the tertiary education sector to meet the evolving needs of students and provide tools that support their success.”
