Queensland-made technology leader TechnologyOne is creating new opportunities for the next generation of talent through the TAFE Queensland Scholarship Program. The sponsorship will help ease financial pressures and create pathways to meaningful career opportunities for disadvantaged students.
The scholarship will cover the costs of course fees, textbooks and living expenses for students pursuing a Certificate III through to an Advanced Diploma or bachelor's degree at any of TAFE Queensland’s campus locations or online.
Industry sponsorships have become essential to maintaining a diverse and skilled future workforce. Disadvantaged students are at a higher risk of dropping out of tertiary education, limiting access to career opportunities and exacerbating skills shortages.
The scholarship program extends TechnologyOne’s long-standing partnership with TAFE Queensland, which has relied on the company’s OneEducation Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Student Management platform for almost a decade.
Developed for the tertiary education industry, OneEducation enables institutions to adapt to the changing education landscape and support students from recruitment to through to graduation with a single platform.
TAFE Queensland Chief Executive Officer, John Tucker, said: “Scholarships can be life-changing for students, providing them with the financial support and encouragement they need to build a better future for themselves and those around them. We are incredibly grateful for the support of sponsors like TechnologyOne who generously donate each year to the TAFE Queensland Scholarship Foundation which funds our scholarships program.”
“We know the power of training and skills and with TechnologyOne’s support we are helping our students to change their lives and achieve their career aspirations.”
TechnologyOne Chief Executive Officer, Ed Chung, said: “As a Queensland born and headquartered business, we are dedicated to creating lasting impacts in the community and nurturing the next generation of innovators and leaders. By alleviating financial pressures on disadvantaged students, we can help open doors to lifelong success.”
“Promoting learning opportunities to underrepresented groups is key to bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences that lead to innovative solutions, keeping Queensland’s workforce vibrant and competitive.”
Leveraging more than 35 years' experience working with leading education providers across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, TechnologyOne’s integrated OneEducation suite supports over 6.5 million students globally.
