Australia’s largest ERP Software as a Service (SaaS) company, TechnologyOne, is proud to announce it is the Cluster Sponsor of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) at the 2025 WorldSkills Australia National Championships and Skills Show held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on June 12th-14th.

The National Championships is an opportunity for talented young Australians to demonstrate their expertise and compete to take on the nation’s best at a time of increasing demand for skills.

Vocational training is essential for meeting demand in critical and growing sectors like energy, digital, and care.

More than 600 apprentices, trainees and students will compete in the National Championships across over 60 skill categories, that will be hosted by the Queensland Government, TAFE Queensland and co-located with the Brisbane Careers and Employment Expo.

Beyond the thrill of competition, the event serves as a stepping stone to the world stage. The top performers in eligible skills may earn a coveted spot in Team Australia (“The Skillaroos”), set to compete at the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai in 2026. This global event will bring together around 1,300 competitors from over 60 countries, making it the largest skills showcase in the world.

WorldSkills Australia CEO, Trevor Schwenke said: “We are thrilled to partner with TechnologyOne to identify and empower the next generation of ICT national champions. Skills shortages in key industries, particularly in ICT, remain a significant challenge for Australia’s economy. Our programs and events assist in promoting vocational education and training as a premier career pathway and showcase the level of skills excellence that exists within Australia. By providing students and apprentices with a competitive platform to refine and showcase their abilities, we help bridge the skills gap and ensure that industry demands are met with a well-trained, job-ready workforce.”

TAFE Queensland CEO John Tucker said: “Vocational Education and Training plays a crucial role in equipping individuals with practical skills and preparing them for the ever-evolving workforce. WorldSkills Australia provides a platform to demonstrate that our graduates are job-ready and capable of assisting employers in innovating and growing their businesses, contributing to their communities, and helping grow our economy.”

TechnologyOne CEO Edward Chung said: “One of the proudest achievements of TechnologyOne is its 37-year story is the thousands of young Aussies who have had their start in skilled careers with us. Our long history as a supplier and supporter of vocational training institutions across Australia means we are acutely aware of how crucial the sector is to our future as a successful nation.”

“TechnologyOne is dedicated to fostering home-grown capability and creating lasting impacts. The VET sector plays a crucial role in equipping Australians with the essential skills and training needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving workforce, which is why we are so proud to provide the business-critical software that allows them to nurture the next generation of innovators and leaders.”

Leveraging this experience working with leading education providers across Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, TechnologyOne’s integrated OneEducation suite is used in two out of every three TAFEs in Australia and supports over 6.5 million students globally.
