EPA Victoria has recommitted to its 20-year partnership with TechnologyOne to build the technology platform that will support its mission of protecting Victoria’s natural environment now and into the future.
Faced with the need to invest in a generational digital uplift and a projected huge growth in demand for its services, EPA explored options for moving to other, overseas-based technologies.
However, it concluded the best solution remained the home-grown alternative offered by TechnologyOne and will transition its business to the modern generation of TechnologyOne’s Software-as-a-Service solution, CiA, to streamline and improve the delivery of its core services.
With Victoria projected to reach 7.9 million people by 2032, growing by a rate of 1.6 per cent every year, EPA went to market to see what technology was available to support it in its mission to protect and prevent harm to the environment and public health.
Despite casting a wide net to find the best possible solution, EPA landed on Australian ERP software provider TechnologyOne, its existing technology partner of 20 years.
The CiA platform offers a single source of truth that employees working all over the state can access anywhere, any time, on any device. EPA will make the move using CiA Live, which makes it simple for customers on Ci to migrate to CiA, with TechnologyOne managing the entire upgrade process.
TechnologyOne’s CiA platform will support EPA to meet its goals outlined in its Annual Delivery Plan 2024-25, including increasing data maturity by 20 per cent to enable data-led decision-making, driving business efficiencies, and managing expenditure within 5 per cent variance of budget.
By meeting these goals, EPA can streamline day-to-day tasks, including assessing applications for licences and permits, engaging with communities and businesses, administering budget and finances, enforcing remedial notices, securing and managing data and improving staff safety.
TechnologyOne’s CEO, Ed Chung, said: “With over 37 years’ experience, we are trusted by more than 230 government departments and agencies across Australia and New Zealand, focusing on core operations and service delivery with a highly secure platform.”
“Our solution delivers a simple, intuitive and secure experience. It is the first enterprise software solution in the world to successfully complete an IRAP assessment for PROTECTED classified data, meaning EPA can rest assured their data is safe and secure, and they can continue to focus on their core body of work.”
