Local governments across Australia, New Zealand and the UK have rejected the tradition, consulting and risk heavy approach to ERP implementation, instead opting to sign on to TechnologyOne’s revolutionary SaaS+ model. More than 20 councils in the past six months embraced the faster, simpler, all-inclusive SaaS+ alternative.
The momentum reflects ongoing challenges forcing councils to look for better, innovative approaches to IT uplifts - legacy IT systems no longer fit for purpose, shrinking budgets and rising community expectations.
TechnologyOne’s OneCouncil SaaS+, launched in 2023, was developed in direct response to these pressures, replacing traditional uncapped project costs with a fixed annual fee that covers everything from implementation to upgrades, support and security.
Adoption of SaaS+ has doubled over the past two quarters, with councils including City of Devonport and Wagga Wagga in Australia; and Islington, and Chorley and South Ribble in the UK all choosing it.
Jeffrey Griffith, Deputy General Manager at the City of Devonport, said: “We'll be using SaaS+ to add TechnologyOne’s Project Lifecycle Management to our suite. We chose this to save us time and money, now and into the future – supporting us to deliver our capital works program for our community.”
Neil Halton, Director of Finance for Chorley Borough Council and South Ribble Borough Council said: “Chorley and South Ribble councils are fast becoming a shining example of the power of collaboration. It is in the same spirit that we welcome the benefits of our partnership with TechnologyOne as they collaborate with us to operate more efficiently and make more informed, data-driven decisions that positively impact our local communities.”
TechnologyOne Local Government EVP, Ben Malpass, said: “There is increasing expectation across the local government sector that councils invest in advanced technology to improve outcomes, maintain information security, avoid costly bills and reputational damage – all while delivering a superior customer experience. Our SaaS+ solutions are tailored to local government, helping to automate complex business processes, avoid technical debt, and put communities first.”
