Townsville City Council, the largest local government in North Queensland, has partnered with TechnologyOne to deliver its 10-year strategy to transform and modernise its operations.

The agreement marks a significant step in Townsville City Council’s system consolidation and expansion of TechnologyOne OneCouncil integrated Software as a Service (SaaS+) delivery model, replacing disconnected systems with a single, real-time view across asset, community, operational and financial functions.

This will enable the council to strengthen decision-making, optimise asset management, improve long-term financial sustainability, and deliver better services for Townsville’s growing community of more than 206,000 residents.

TechnologyOne EVP for Local Government Ben Malpass said, “Councils across Australia are moving away from disconnected systems towards a single source of truth that enables better decisions and improved community services.”

“We have worked with Townsville for over 20 years and are delighted to be supporting the next chapter of their digital transformation journey. This reinvestment into our partnership demonstrates the value we deliver and the long-term alignment we have with local governments, including Townsville’s community.

Townsville City Council CEO Joe McCabe said, “Our ongoing partnership with TechnologyOne supports Council’s commitment to upgrading its technology and systems to better support our people and the community. By providing staff with the right tools and processes, we can improve how information is managed and accessed across the organisation, enhance the customer experience, and deliver more consistent and efficient services to meet the needs of our growing city.”

The renewed partnership builds on strong momentum in local government, with TechnologyOne reporting 27% Annual Recurring Revenue growth in the sector, driven by increasing demand for its end-to-end SaaS+ model that brings together software, implementation, support and ongoing innovation in a single offering.

It comes as more councils across Australia and New Zealand embrace SaaS+ to streamline and modernise their operations.

Today, more than 73% of Australian and New Zealand residents live in a council that runs on TechnologyOne software. TechnologyOne’s OneCouncil SaaS ERP solution helps local governments modernise, adapt to the evolving landscape, and do more with less. Councils including Glenorchy City Council, City of Launceston, and others are using TechnologyOne solutions to improve visibility, service delivery and customer outcomes.
