The local government sector has embraced TechnologyOne’s customer-facing service delivery platform for local government, DxP LG, which is transforming how councils deliver digital services to their communities.

Over the past year, TechnologyOne has doubled the number of councils using DxP LG, reaching 46 customers across Australia and New Zealand, the company’s strongest year to date.

Ben Malpass, Executive Vice President, Local Government at TechnologyOne, said: “Local government plays the most personal role in people’s lives, but our research shows it’s also the area where citizens face the greatest digital disadvantage.”

“Our Australian Digital Citizens 2025 report from earlier in 2025 found that while 88 per cent of Australians use Federal Government digital services, only around 55 per cent engage with their local council online — and the gap is even wider for disadvantaged residents. That’s exactly what DxP LG was built to address. Over the past year, we’ve doubled the number of councils using the platform and cut implementation time in half through our Knowledge Migration service, which means we do the heavy lifting — reducing time, effort, and cost for our customers.

“By embedding empathic design principles into our OneCouncil platform, we’re helping councils close the digital divide, strengthen community trust, and deliver services that are simple, inclusive, and accessible to everyone.”

Key DxP LG implementations and acquisitions included Central Coast Council, the company’s largest new customer of the year, as well as Merri-bek City Council in Victoria, the City of South Perth, Redland City Council, and Yarra Ranges Shire Council.

Vincenzo Lombardi, Director of Corporate Services at Yarra Ranges Shire Council, said: “DxP LG gave us the chance to launch a platform that’s more accessible for ratepayers and tourists alike. It’s about making services easier, more intuitive, and more connected to community needs.”

Jos Mitchell, Redland City Mayor, said: “The availability of user-friendly systems enhanced our customers’ experience. Expanding Council’s digital services over the coming years is being undertaken to benefit both customers and staff. It also continues Council’s transparency journey, which I know the community wants.”

Building on this momentum, TechnologyOne will continue to accelerate SaaS+ adoption and enhance delivery across Local Government. Ongoing investment in AI will drive new levels of automation and efficiency, helping councils shift resources from back-office operations to community services.

TechnologyOne now supports more than 330 councils globally, representing over 73 per cent of residents in Australia and New Zealand.

With more councils than ever adopting DxP LG, TechnologyOne continues to lead the way in transforming how local governments connect with their communities.
